Cultural Workshop at Te Pā o Moki Marae Taumutu

November 4 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Everyone Welcome at

Te Pā o Moki Marae Taumutu

ESAI and the Whakaora Te Waikēkēwai Project are coming together once again and would like to invite local members of the community along to an afternoon workshop.

Topics covered at this event will include:

  • History of Te Taumutu and the importance of Te Waikēkēwai for local hapū
  • Mātauranga monitoring- hear from the monitors assessing stream health through a Māori lens.
  • Mahinga kai values of the area and what work is being done to improve them.
  • View the site and plans for the proposed Te Repo o Papatahora restoration works planned to start in January 2025.
  • View the section of Papatahora on Clem Smith’s property and the work to be carried out.
  • There will also be an opportunity for those attending to have a walk around Te Repo Orariki.

This is a wonderful opportunity for members of the local community to come together and find out more about the cultural heritage of the area and get an update on the work being carried out by the Whakaora Te Waikēkēwai Project.

The workshop will begin with a small mihi whakatau to welcome everyone to the marae. Afternoon tea will be provided.
